What a wonderful unique capture of something that has been photographed a gazillion times. I also love the layers of the B&W of Mt. Hood and mist.

Lovely, kind of zen a sense of minimalistic tone love the balance, the whiteness, the hint of form and texture. Birch trees are my favorite, I think, for their chinese calligraphy splashes of form. Beautifully captured, thanks, Rosie

Oh Craig, did this give me a great big chuckle. I think people forget sometimes, that one of photography's "jobs" is to bring laughter to our lives. Thanks for the fun image, I needed it this morning! Rosie

Dear craig,
I am enjoying browsing thru the PAG website with my iPad. The fireworks image is especially meaningful to me, as I received my kidney transplant on July 6,2000. My beloved donor was killed on July 4th, and his mother asked that I remember him in the fireworks.
Thanks,
Rosie

I love a good silhouette-- I just took a couple the other day that I'll post as soon as I get them off of my camera... BUT not as much as I love a good DOG image.
Now tell me, is that a TRUE blue or a PHOTOSHOP blue?

It's a PhotoShop rendition I confess! To me, making it blue made it more expressive. I think altering images is fine if it lets you create a more expressive work and isn't too fake looking. Maybe I went overboard here, but I personally like the result.
Old Timer B&W

Hiya Craig, Well, now, that's what I'm talkin' about!! I really do like it in B&W, and thanks so much for actually taking the time to do it. Not to be too picky, but even some further refining, perhaps a deeper tonal range, a bit more contrast.... But still, I really think that the B&W is a good way to go with this one. AGain>>thanks!... rosie

The complementary colors on the sculpture is great. Nice sky and good details. I really like that shot. Same goes for the Blue Door. Excellent work.

Hiya Craig... these two images, from my POV, are a perfect example of where color and B&W fit in different circumstances. The picture in front of Fox and Firkin has great color to it, and would lose something in B&W. On the other hand, I would love to see the Old timer in B&W. I think it would go from being a good picture to a more powerful one.

Hi Rosie,
Thank you for the great suggestion! I just converted and uploaded a black and white version and I must say I do like it better! I even added some film grain and reduced the contrast to give it an old-fashioned look. Hope you like it!
