The 200th exhibit at LightBox Gallery in Astoria features work by 50+ of its current members, including Rich and Walt, whose images (above) are titled, respectively, “Portico at George Eastman House” and “Pond near Cougar Reservoir.”
Lightbox was established in June 2009 by Michael and Chelsea Granger as a center to promote creative and alternative photography on the North Coast of Oregon. It provides a venue for exhibits, a darkroom for members and a place where community of like-minded artists can gather. Its mission statement says: “LightBox strives to exhibit a diversity of photographic styles and processes, to educate in these techniques and methods, and to influence the community in the recognition of photography as a fine art. LightBox encourages the continued use of film, traditional photographic methods, historical alternative processes and seeks to discover and recognize the finest works in digital photography.”
The runs through Feb. 1, 2025, at the gallery, 1045 Marine Dr., in Astoria. Digital versions of the images in the show can be seen at http://lightbox-photographic.com/shows/two_hundred
